Doodles

I try to stay active by sketching.  My drawings are always so flattened.   Different tape worms squirming around each other. Some kind of fabric or pattern? Anxiety. Also this.

Aqua series

Image
I started a new series of abstract paintings using this technique where I create color charts then use the paint left over on the palette paper to collage an expressionistic landscape.  When I peel them off the paper it creates surprising shapes. This piece is mostly finished.  I think it's an underwater scene with plenty of interaction between species and plants and possibly trash. The underpainting. Palette paper. Color charts. Canvas from Goodwill and 1 can of spray paint = $26. Color charts, palette paper and collage scrap book. Greedy sperm.

Lap Blankets

Image
I fortuitously acquired a sewing machine during quarantine in order to make masks and do mending, etc.  I have been saving old pants that I outgrow or blow out (thank you, thunder thighs) so I transformed them into blankets perfectly sized for the lap.  I think my second attempt is much better: Multiple lap warmers. This one is primarily denim with some fabric as a "frame" The other side has this cozy fabric with a cool pattern. My first attempt is laughable, basically sewing together random leggings. Perfectly natural shape. Oh brother. En action!
