Yara

Image
These pics of Yara are not that great... She is soooooo sweet and quiet and timid.  I would foster her in a minute if I had enough room in my apartment.   She is a spayed, five year old Dachsund/Corgi mix.

Starfish

Image
Starfish.  2018.  Sharpie marker on ceramic plate.  10.5" diameter.  Wall mount included.

Mulberry

Image
Mulberry is a neutered, two year old Wheaton/Lhasa Apso mix.  He is very nice, but not recommended for a home with small children (he was mistreated by a child).  His soft fur is grey and cream.

The Juggler

Image
I call this one The Juggler because it reminds me of the colorful frenzy of a circus, but is still very self-contained. The Juggler.  2018.  Sharpie on ceramic plate.  5" diameter.  $50.  Table stand included.

Treco

Image
On the weekends I volunteer with Mutts and Meows, trying to help these fur babies find their forever homes.  Here are a few dogs in real need of adoption. This is Treco (pronounced Tray - Co), about three years old.  He is super sweet and soft, although does not trust strangers without being given a treat.  He is a neutered Dachsund/ Jack Russell Terrier mix full of energy!!

Herbs

Image
I picked up some herbs on sale at my local nursery... smells so good!  Pretty pleased with my garden and happy I picked it up as a hobby.

Pink chandelier

This commissioned work of art is finally finished.  I learned a lot about painting light and lighting during this project, especially candles.  But most of all, it was a fun and "girly" experience!

Large Flower

Image
I recently got some new, very fine-tipped sharpies and I'm pleased with the level of detail now available to me.   I also picked up some new plates.

Plate of Cancer

Image
This is a plate that I'm not very happy with...  At a certain point it really got off track...  I tried to adjust the triangle by covering it up with black Sharpie, but it just kind of looks like cancer. But I thought the triangle looked weird... Oh well, it was worth a try.  Lesson learned.

Just the Tip

7/20/2018 When dining at a full-service restaurant in the United States, it is customary to leave a tip.  The servers who work in these establishments earn little more than $2/hour and therefore depend on gratuity left behind by patrons for their livelihood.   A general rule of thumb when determining how much money to leave as a tip is 10% - 20% of the total cost of the bill .  For example, if the bill (sales and tax) is $100, your tip should be $10 - $20.  Here are some other tips: Never leave less than 10%, even if you think your server totally sucks.  Although it may seem simple, being a waiter or waitress can be extremely stressful and demanding.  A lot of factors lie beyond the control of the server such as kitchen errors, facility issues and sometimes coping with several new tables at once. A decent service experience should receive about 15% of the cost of the bill.  This means everything went smoothly, everyone was polite and t...

Start to Finish

Image
I created this collage to demonstrate the design evolution of one of my ceramic plates.  I can also create one custom if you want to select different colors.  The patterns tend to emerge organically.

The Royal Arch

Image
My boyfriend took me on a 1300 ft. vertical climb to reach this rock formation in the shape of an arch.  It was definitely worth it. Especially for the view from the top:

Portfolio

I'm pretty proud of my portfolio so far.  Check it out here! I have a series of ceramic plates for sale that include the wall mount.  I also offer discounts if you purchase two or more (they look good as a set!) The plates are composed of either sharpie or crayola marker.  Since the crayola marker is water-based, some of the colors have started to bleed. All designs have been sealed with Polycrilic sealer.

Butterfly

This butterfly let me get up close.

This might be the moment I pulled a muscle in my back.
